Sample Map of Tract Near the
Famous Salt Lick BBQ

Mapping is an important tool for
understanding country property.
Among the special services we offer
our clients is a custom aerial-based
mapping tool to assist you in the
evaluation of your property so you
can make the right decision, whether
buying or selling. Nearly three
years of development provides our
clients with the finest real estate
property maps in Texas. This
investment is built on a complex
process that requires obtaining map
data from a variety of sources, the
customized building of many
additional map layers, the
geo-referencing of all layers (which
assures all elements are aligned and
at the right scale), continual
updating, and creating graphic
design interpretation of the map
data so the maps are both meaningful
and appealing. All this is driven by
industrial strength software. While
Google Earth is an amazing tool, it
does not provide anywhere near the
number of important LOCAL map layers
necessary to make buying or selling
decisions about your piece of the
beautiful Texas Hill Country.
The above map shows just some of the
available layers as they relate to a
property near the famous Salt Lick
BBQ at the intersection of FM-1826
and FM-967 in Northern Hays County.
See if you can pick out all the map
layers. This particular map includes
the aerial, property boundaries (you
want to know who your neighors are,
right?), roads, Onion Creek showing
main creek channel (dark blue), the
100 year flood plain (medium blue),
and the 500 year flood plain (light
blue). Also shown is the confluence
of 3 ZIPs and 2 school districts,
and in the upper right-hand corner
is a high-tension line (in yellow)
running along the top of possible
golden-cheeked warbler habitat
(yellow diagonal lines). Many more
important map layers are available
to help our clients with their
analysis (many are listed in Map
Layer Options above).
